Compass Needle

The compass was invented in China between the 2nd century BCE and 1st century AD. They were first made of iodestone, a naturally magnetised ore of iron.

Ancient Chinese people found that if suspended to turn freely it would always face the direction of the magnetic poles.

I combined the isosceles triangle of the golden ratio to form a compass needle.
